Schneider Electric recently carried out a series of commissioning activities in Granada, completing an important phase of the project together with the local demo site lead, Cuerva.
For the past few months, all our demo sites have been busy carrying out device installations on site. As technical provider, Schneider Electric has been carefully managing the installations of hardware from power devices, smart blinds, photovolatics, sensors, and most importantly local network connections for the automation systems. Cuerva, on the other hand, has managed the on-the-ground preparations for the infrastructure and installations on site, coordinating between different technology providers.

Following the finalized installations at the end of January, Schneider performed the commissioning and system start‑up, ensuring that all components operate in line with the project’s technical requirements. During these activities, the remote connection was successfully validated, a dedicated VPN was configured to secure access, and the air‑conditioning splits were confirmed to be fully reachable through the system.
All these steps in commissioning the system makes sure that installed components are fully connected to the smart automation infrastructure. The automation server is now generating and storing data locally, data that will play a crucial role in supporting the next phases of the project.

This marks a significant step forward, achieved through strong collaboration between the partners and a coordinated effort to keep the project on track. In the upcoming monitoring phase, data will be collected from the system to inform how Granada's Royal Chancellery building progresses in becoming a smart heritage building.
