Role in SmarteeStory

TU Delft is responsible to capture user requirements for smart controls and pioneer an advanced AI-driven methodology to personalize smart controls to perfectly match user preferences while simultaneously optimizing energy efficiency. Firstly, through participatory co-design approaches, user requirements from end-users, facility manager and building owners are collected. Secondly, multi-domain user requirements are monitored in the pre-intervention phase to create novel user archetypes that can sufficiently describe user needs with automated buildings controls and in terms of indoor environmental quality. Experiments at the cutting-edge facilities of the Green Village are also conducted to gather novel insight on human-building interaction in smart buildings. Finally, a novel AI-enhanced methodology is developed to infer user requirements in an adaptive yet not disruptive manners.
