The SMARTeeSTORY team commissioned the Building Management System (BMS) at the Royal Chancellery of Granada, together with the Schneider Electric Italy team. The BMS integrates and monitors the building’s technical installations through a single interface. The system is now operational, collecting and storing real-time data on key parameters such as light levels, temperature and indoor air quality.
Supporting energy efficiency and user comfort
The data allows the team to optimise heating, cooling and lighting control in the selected offices. This improves energy efficiency while maintaining comfortable conditions for the people who use and work in the building.
To ensure secure access to the data, the team has set up a dedicated VPN on its own network using a 4G router. A local PC has also been installed on site to extract the data regularly. The team is already reviewing the information received to confirm its quality, format and completeness.
What comes next?
The Granada team is now working with the other SMARTeeSTORY partners on three main activities:
- Integrating the wireless sensor network into the central platform
- Testing the smart controllers that will manage the fan coil units
- Reviewing the quality and completeness of the collected data
The data will be used to calibrate and train the models that will optimise the building’s energy performance.
